Dr. Eric Meyer

Eric Meyer, M.D.

Eric C. Meyer, M.D. graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a degree in Biology. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Upon earning his doctorate degree, Dr. Meyer completed his medical internship at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee and a residency in Ophthalmology at University of Pittsburgh Eye & Ear Institute. Dr. Meyer has been a Board-Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist since first becoming eligible in 2001. Dr. Meyer’s clinical interests include advanced cataract surgery, comprehensive eye care, eyelid plastic surgery, and medical retina diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Meyer is a native of Minnesota and has lived with his wife, two children, and two golden retrievers in Durango since 2001. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, golf, and skiing.

Dr. Joshua Zastrocky

Joshua Zastrocky, M.D.

Joshua Zastrocky, M.D. graduated Summa Cum Laude from Regis University in Denver, Colorado where he studied Chemistry and Neuroscience. He went on to receive his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon earning his doctorate degree, Dr. Zastrocky completed his medical internship and residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Following residency, he completed his fellowship training in medical and surgical glaucoma management at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Dr. Zastrocky is a board-certified Glaucoma Specialist whose clinical Interests include glaucoma treatment and surgery, comprehensive eye care, and advanced cataract surgery, and neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr. Zastrocky was born in Denver and grew up in Broomfield, Colorado. He is thrilled to be back in Colorado and the Four Corners region. When not seeing patients, Dr. Zastrocky enjoys all that Durango has to offer with his wife and their seven children.

Dr. David Bishop

David Bishop, M.D.

David Bishop, M.D. is a Board-Certified Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Specialist who has provided ophthalmic care to residents of the Four Corners for many years. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Bishop attended residency at the University of Texas in Galveston before earning his fellowship in ocular plastics. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Denver Health.

Dr. Bishop’s clinical interests are the diagnosis and treatment of medical eye disease.


Dr. Brach

John P. Brach, M.D.

John P. Brach, M.D. graduated from Colorado State University with his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a certification in Biomedical Engineering. He earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch and graduated with high honors, in addition to being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical society. Dr. Brach completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas and his residency in Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Brach’s clinical interests include cataract surgery, comprehensive eye care, ophthalmic plastic surgery, and external diseases.

Dr. Brach was born in southeast Texas and grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado. He and his wife have two rescue dogs that are totally spoiled. In his spare time he enjoys snowboarding, hiking, jogging, and Western Colorado’s amazing environment.

Karyn Bourke, M.D.

Karyn Bourke, M.D., born in Atlanta, Georgia, earned a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at Princeton University, where she was elected to Sigma Xi, the scientific research society. She received her medical degree from Medical College of Georgia’s School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her internal medicine internship, ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, specifically at the John A. Moran Eye Center. She then practiced as a retinal specialist in Oregon prior to joining Four Corners Eye Clinic. Dr. Bourke is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.

While her primary focus is to serve her local community, she is passionate about global medicine and has helped provide eye care in Ghana and Nepal. She enjoys skiing, cycling, scuba diving, river rafting and exploring the great outdoors.
